Little did I realize that when you say that you’re a vegetarian, some vegetarians would get so up in arms about people that say if you haven’t given up fish or any type of seafood that you’re not literally a vegetarian.Perhaps that’s true, according to some. I’ve looked up the definition for those that only eat fish are called Vegequarians. So to the die hards out there I apologize.
Well guess what, I’ve been off of poultry for about six months and beef for over a year. I thought that I might brag a little about that. Remember I wrote a post quite some time ago about giving up beef, but I didn’t know if I could give up poultry. Well, I did and I realized it hasn’t been as difficult as I thought it would. I have so much more energy, which has always been a struggle for me.
A product that’s helped the transition for me has been a product called Morning Star. I have yet to taste a food that the company makes that hasn’t tasted great. you should try it, if you haven’t already.
Is there something that you’ve given up that has been easier than you expected?

Ackers! I gave up all meats but chicken or fish several years ago and while it’s easy peasy for me sometimes my hostess (especially my Mom) will complain what a hardship it is for them. I always say don’t worry about it I’ll just eat the side dishes but I know it annoys some folks.
This year I made the step to give up the farmed fish and stick with fish that swims in the ocean! Not hard just more expensive!
I also gave up soda with caffeine a few years back which is a pain but I know it’s good for me. Here in Florida there is so little caffeine free sodas when eating out that I’ve pretty much given up soda all together which is probably more helpful to my health than giving up meat.
I need to take the next step and give up poultry especially since some of my best friends are my back yard chickens. I of course would never eat them (who eats their friends?) but I do feel guilty when I fool myself into thinking those little frozen bricks of chicken I buy at Costco were never a living bird.
Shameful!
